I’m finishing this off because I’ve had it for far too long. Picked it up in Ireland about a month ago when I was there for work. It almost tastes like scotch.

I’m at work.

A mate bought me a bottle of The Ardmore a couple of christmas’s ago. It’s the only whisky I’ve ever poured away.

The barman let me try a little of my present while my mate was there, I let the barman have some and I’m glad I was looking at the barman and not my mate because it was awful. I tried mixing it with whatever I had at home to make it drinkable but no success so I poured it down the sink.

We have two different ardmores, and they are wildly different. The ‘legacy’ is a huge improvement over the ‘standard’ from 3 years ago.

I should also mention the Lagavulin in your pic is probably my favourite whiskey. One of my coworkers once gifted me a bottle - otherwise it’s quite pricey.

Well, not sweet like syrup but otherwise you can get those kinds of flavours. Some whiskys aren’t smoky at all, others taste like you’re drinking a campfire.

I should’ve bought some liquor. I drank a bunch of sake last night and figured I’d spare my liver tonight.

Lagavulin and the Balvenie are familiar, with the former being one of my favourites, but I don’t recall having ever tried the other four.
